Stay cool with hot jazz
Let the sunburn heal and bask in the pleasure of an air-conditioned, intimate Uptown jazz club with entertainment by some of the hottest jazz musicians in the country.
Relax with friends, your S.O. or coworkers, and immerse yourself in the tunes of guitarist and composer Kenny Burrell, one of the most respected jazz artists in the world.
Burrell grew up in Detroit and recorded 97 albums under his own name! Kenny Burrell performed with the likes of Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, John Coltrane and others. Now, that’s some impressive company.
Making the music of Burrell come to life is Amos Hoffman, an Israeli jazz guitarist and oudist known for fusing Middle Eastern rhythms with modern jazz. Hoffman, who lives in Columbia, SC, started playing guitar at age six and picked up the oud a few years later. He’s recorded five solo albums and was awarded one of Israel’s most prestigious prizes – The Landau Prize for Arts and Sciences for Outstanding Achievement in the field of jazz.
