Every year, the Wells Fargo Championship takes over the Quail Hollow area, attracting golf pros, media and fans from all over. If you live nearby, you rent your driveway out for parking and walk to the course. If you don’t live nearby and you’re not a golf fan, you know this as the time of year to avoid that part of town. Yet, if you’ve never been, this year it’s time to see for yourself: This is not just your grandpa’s sport that doubles as an afternoon nap soundtrack.

Be ready for cooler, wetter weather over the weekend, according to drip-chronicles famous, dancer-gone-viral meteorologist Nick Kosir of Fox 46. “There will be chances for scattered storms this weekend but that’s par for the course this time of year,” he said.

Friday will be partly sunny with a 30% chance for scattered storms. “Saturday will be the most active day as a cold front ‘swings’ through,” Kosir said. There will be a 60% chance for storms during the afternoon and evening. “Don’t worry, there won’t be any golf-ball-sized hail with the storms — just heavy rain and gusty winds.”

The cold front will lag across the Carolinas on Sunday, with a 30% chance for lingering scattered storms.” Oh ya, and the high on Sunday will be eighty-fooooooooooooore,” he said.

Now that you’ve gotten a good pun and grabbed a light rain jacket, here are 5 things to check out while you’re here:

(1) Your activity tracker

If you plan on following your favorite golfer, hours of slow walking will add up to a successful activity tracker at the end of the day. We managed to get more than 6 miles in on Wednesday, but it didn’t hurt that we were walking alongside eye candy Greg Olsen and his sidekick, Luke Kuechly as his caddie.

(2) The photo ops

Rolling hills, blue sky, fancy real estate. You can’t help but soak it all in through the lens of your phone. If you need further inspiration, selfie stations in the form of gold frames and even a stagecoach are set up throughout the course.

(3) The clubhouse

Duck out of the sun for a cold one in the posh comfort that only the clubhouse can offer. Clubhouse tickets offer you multiple bars to choose from and shaded outdoor lawn spaces with a grill and extended viewing areas. Check out the trophy room and the Clubhouse Pro-Shop boutique. Time for a swag upgrade.

(4) The food trucks

The Green Mile Village offers several food trucks, with options including 100 Main Beef and Barbeque, Golden Cow Creamery, JJs Red Hots and Shine the Chef Street Kitchen.

(5) The Wells Fargo exclusive customer lounge
