Vintage Charlotte’s Summer Market returns for its sixth year Saturday, June 3. It’s a hugely popular shopping event with more than 80 vendors selling housewares, furniture, decor, clothing, jewelry and more, and everything is either vintage or handmade.
Here are the top five reasons to attend this year’s market.
(1) Because Camp North End.
If you haven’t heard about this gigantic, cool development just north of Uptown yet, you need to read up on it ASAP. The market will be held in the old Ford building at Camp North End. The wood-tiled floors, exposed industrial interior and raw warehouse vibe are what Instagram influencers’ dreams are made of. I hope you have a strong filter game because this a must-have location photo on your IG feed.
(2) Because Father’s Day is coming up.
June 18 is quickly approaching, so you might as well knock finding something special for the dad(s) in your life off your to-do list. There will be guy gifts galore at the market.
Beautiful Idiot Clothing will be there with ties, bow ties and pocket squares. It’s the first time Premium Sound has been a vendor at this market and they will be stocked with a selection of vintage records for sale.
(3) To see some of the latest cool local shops.
Charlotte has a very active handmade goods scene and this is one of the best ways to get acquainted with the shop owners.
“The vendors often make connections that turn into friendships and there is nothing like buying something right from the person behind a small business,” Vintage Charlotte founder Amy Herman says.
Fresh Knot Bow is also new to the market this year and they sell adorable bonnets and bows for kids.
Rae is such a beauty. 😍 thanks for sharing @littlemissandco This bonnet is one of my best seller, made from a vintage yardage that was donated to me. Sad to say that I don’t have anymore of this fabric left. I do have many other beautiful bonnets for this drop. All are made from vintages, preloved, and recycled fabrics. Hope you will love them. May 27 at 7pm EST! #freshknot
Choice Cuts Industries sells beautiful custom leather watches, wallets and more.
(4) To enjoy local food and drinks.
It’s a shopping event, yes, but it can also double as a serious hangout session with friends. Not Just Coffee, Birdsong Brewing Co., Bleu Barn Bistro, The Dumpling Lady and King of Pops will all be there along with a live band for entertainment.
(5) To prevent FOMO.
Chances are you’re going to see the #VTGCLT hashtag floating around on your social feeds if you haven’t already. You can be a part of the social chatter too.
Bonus: there is a VIP Shop event on the Friday night before the market. That might be a good option because people are typically lined up out the door the day of the event.
That’s when I plan on attending. Maybe I’ll see you there!
