Have you tried the latest massage center in Charlotte? It doubles as a coffee spot and CBD cafe.

What appears to be the latest stop for coffee in South End is actually a massage therapy center featuring local coffee. We stopped in because the bright signage for coffee recently appearing on the patio caught our eye.

Vigor opened about four months ago at 216 Iverson Way, Suite B, in South End. The staff is calling Vigor Charlotte’s first CBD cafe.

This health spa and café will have you embracing your inner hippie. With a chill and colorful atmosphere, Vigor not only provides massage services (prices ranging from $42.50 to $200), but also serves local coffee in their little nook called Mitty’s Café.

Mitty’s currently serves hot or iced Magnolia Coffee and their own lemonade, but will be adding smoothies to their menu in the near future.

The coffee corner also carries Prime Sunshine Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, which can be purchased in vials, vapes or gummies (price of vials ranges from $48-$120).

CBD oil is a bit of a controversial trend that is hitting states that have legalized usage of medical marijuana. However, Vigor owner Mitchell Cook said he has watched this unique product that is “quality all around the board”  turn around the lives of not just his customers, but also his own staff.

Vigor is in the process of getting CBD massage oil to use in their services and in their coffee beans. Some of the benefits of CBD oil include pain relief, its reduced anxiety and depression, the alleviation of cancer-related symptoms.

The Vigor interior has unique, hand-painted floors and walls covered with greenery. The interior decor actually carries meaning. Cook was inspired to create a welcoming atmosphere that would have people leaving better than when they walked in.

“This place, it gets people out of pain, but it also helps people relax,” Cook said.

Vigor offers two main massage services called “Mind and Body” and “Where Does it Hurt?” All are offered in 30 minute increments.

“Mind and Body” includes:

– The Fluffy Muscle (Swedish Massage), which centers around alleviating sore muscles and rejuvenating blood flow. Pricing starts at $85 for 60 minutes and $120 for 90 minutes.

– The Grumpy Muscle (Deep Tissue), which works to relieve stubborn problem areas. Pricing starts at $100 for 60 minutes and $150 for 90 minutes.

Then there is “Where Does it Hurt?”, a service performed by muscle specialists, clinical body work therapists and movement technicians that seek to use different techniques to target chronic and acute pain. Pricing starts at $100 for 60 minutes and $150 for 90 minutes.

This new center also offers memberships:

$45/month: one 30-minute massage/month

$65/month: one 60-minute massage, same price for any massage after that (during that month) as well as $100 value for any service.

$75/month: one 60-minute massage, freedom to cancel after four months.

And whether you stop in this new spot for coffee, CBD oil or massage services, you’re likely to leave feeling better than when you walked in.
