Your Uptown summer concert planner—and why VIP seats are worth it

This content is brought to you in partnership with Live Nation Premium Seats. All opinions are our own.

With summer concert season fast approaching, it’s a great time to shine the spotlight on one of the best outdoor live music venues in town: the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre at AvidXchange Music Factory.

From its convenient Uptown location to all the nearby spots to grab pre-show libations (like VBGB, 820 and The Small Bar), this is one outdoor music venue that really rocks. And while catching a show from the lawn is just fine, if you really want to experience the best the venue has to offer, it’s time to opt for the VIP experience.

Here are three reasons we think upgrading to VIP is worthwhile — especially if you’re trying to impress clients, new business prospects or even a new crush.

Convenient, hassle-free parking

VIP tickets come with a VIP parking pass, so that you can park in a conveniently-located, dedicated lot in front of the Avid Xchange parking deck, right across the street from the concert venue. Trust us, you’ll be glad you didn’t have to waste time driving around to find a parking spot, especially on busy weekends with multiple events and busy nearby bars.

An air-conditioned VIP Lounge

With your VIP box seats or tickets to a show at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre, you get to hang out at a private VIP lounge inside The Fillmore (an indoor live music venue right next door) both pre- and post-show. And did we mention that it’s air conditioned? This comes in particularly handy during the hot summer months… as do the clean, private bathrooms.

Skip the lines with in-box wait service

Why go stand in a long line for a pretzel and a beer, when VIP Boxes come with wait service? Better snack selections, as well as beer and wine, delivered straight to you — so you don’t have to miss one second of the show.

With 20 upcoming shows already announced at Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre at Avid Xchange Music Factory, and more of them on the way, it’s time to start planning your concert calendar. To get you started, here’s a month by month look* at who’s coming from April through September:

  • April: The Decemberists, Adams Sandler and Beck
  • May: Rapcaviar Live feat Migos & Trippie Redd, ODESZA, Vance Joy, Primus/Mastodon, Khalid and Dirty Heads.
  • June: alt-J, The Revivalists and Ray Lamontagne with Very Special Guest Neko Case
  • July: Barenaked Ladies, Coheed and Cambria & Taking Back Sunday, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Kidz Bop Live and Glass Animals
  • August: O.A.R and Jason Mraz
  • September: Portugal. The Man

You’ll see it’s more than just concerts with successful actor, writer, producer and musician Adam Sandler performing with special guest Rob Schneider on Sunday, April 22. After a long absence from the comedy stage, Sandler has found time between films over the last couple of years to perform in front of live audiences in a sold-out tour in the U.S. and Canada.

So if you’re looking for a fun way to entertain clients and employees, consider purchasing a VIP box for the upcoming concert season. It’s impressive to your guests with your company name on it and you’re able to choose from four, six, eight and twelve-seat options.

The first step is connecting with Ashley Adams, Director of Sales for Live Nation Premium Seats, who can talk you through the options and give you a venue tour so you can see what we’re talking about. Just want a pair of VIP tickets to one concert? Don’t worry — she can hook you up with that, too.
