Hanukkah is in full-swing, Christmas and Kwanzaa are both right around the corner – if there’s ever been a week to find fun, festive things to do in the Queen City, it’s this one.
Here are a few upcoming events that will help you get into the holiday spirit this week in Charlotte.
Monday Dec. 18, 7 – 10 p.m. Free. Romare Bearden Park, 300 S. Church St.
Love singing Christmas carols? Love beer? Then mark your calendars for the first-ever holiday-themed karaoke night (/open mic) at Legion Brewing. Get up and belt out your favorite holiday tunes – each acoustic performer and singer gets up to two songs. Then stick around for the featured act, Cory Wells, who will play from 9 – 9:30 p.m. More information here.
Wednesday Dec. 20, 6 – 9 p.m. See calendar for hours. Free. 7th St. Public Market, 224 E. 7th St.
POTIONS & PIXELS will be bringing 75+ board games to the 7th St. Public Market for a night of fun for all ages. Whether you prefer a nostalgic game from your childhood, a rollicking party game o a game of complex strategy, they’ve got options for you to choose from. All of the market’s vendors will be open for extended hours serving up tasty food and drinks for you to enjoy while you play. Find out more here.
Thursday Dec. 21, 5 – 7 p.m. Free. NoDa Brewing, 2921 N. Tryon St.
If your brain is bursting with yuletide knowledge, you’re sure to love this special holiday edition of trivia with the Woody & Wilcox Beer Club at NoDa Brewing. Grab your favorite NoDa brew and some food from the TIN Kitchen food truck while you show off what you know about the holiday season. And be sure to come in an ugly sweater – the person whose sweater is voted the ugliest will win Charlotte Hornets tickets! Learn more here.
Sunday Dec. 24, 1 – 4 p.m. Tickets start at $50. Bank of America Stadium, 800 S. Mint St.
Talk about a holiday tradition that’s everyone can get behind. Whether you actually get a ticket to watch the game at Bank of America Stadium or you tune in from the comfort of your own home, you’re probably going to want to get yourself a Panthers Santa hat to wear while you cheer them on. ‘Tis the season, right? You can get tickets to the game here.
Season runs Tuesday – Sunday, through Dec. 24. See calendar for hours. Free. Romare Bearden Park, 300 S. Church St.
Through Christmas Eve, Romare Bearden Park will be transformed into “Christkindlmarkt,” also known as Charlotte Christmas Village. This European-inspired, open-air holiday market will feature live performances, dozens of local vendors and specialty foods (including Austrian strudels, Bratwurst with Sauerkraut, and glazed German Roasted Nuts – we’re drooling). Those 21 and over can also enjoy beer, wine, cider or traditional Glühwein, a mulled spiced wine served warm in many European countries, as they wander around the market. More details here.
