This post is brought to you in partnership with The Barker Lounge. All opinions are our own.
While you tough it out from 8 to 5 at work, the four-legged guests at The Barker Lounge are having a fun-filled day of swimming, fetching, running, napping, playing, eating, getting lots of belly rubs, sniffing out old friends and meeting new ones.
The fun atmosphere and safe environment is one of the many reasons husband and wife owners Russ and Caitlin (McLean) Owens say the The Barker Lounge is usually sold out for weekly playgroups — and booked solid months in advance for boarding services.
Russ and Caitlin have found the perfect formula to keep dogs (and their humans) happy, like the careful screening of each and every pup, meticulous training of employees and low guest-to-human ratios. They can also send you home with a clean dog and no one leaves without enjoying a yummy treat.
Plus, dogs are grouped by size, temperament and interest, so everyone feels comfortable and can express his or her shining personality.
It takes a lot of love, dog biscuits and refilling of water bowls to keep everyone’s tail wagging.
Here’s what The Barker Lounge looks like by the numbers:
The number of dogs (guests) at The Barker Lounge each day, including boarders and daycare attendees.

Every new guests is required to successfully complete a Meet & Greet before they can join the fun. Pet parents can complete the application online and (take our advice) do it weeks in advance. Depending on how busy they are, it could take a few days for the evaluation process to be completed.
After the Meet & Greet evaluation is finished, your dog has the green light to play and board at The Barker Lounge.
Number of daycare spots available Monday through Friday.
The Barker Lounge has one employee to every 10 guests, so these furry friend get lots of supervision, love and attention during their stay. The humans get to know each and every pet, then use selective grouping to ensure all dogs have a fun time hanging with a great pack of peeps.
Want to see for yourself? Russl and Caitlin invite pet parents to take a tour of The Barker Lounge and check out where your dog(s) will be playing and sleeping, observe how employees interact with guests and ensure the experience is going to be cold-nose, warm-tummy approved.
