After an exciting week full of pre-festival events, it is finally time for the one we’ve all been waiting for: The 5th Annual Greystar Apartments and South End Hops Festival Spring Fundraiser taking place tomorrow, May 19 at 308 W Carson Blvd from 2 – 6 p.m.

If you’re wondering what to expect, what to wear, or how to plan ahead, don’t worry — we’ve got you covered. This year’s festival will be the biggest and best one yet for a variety of reasons.

If you purchased a VIP ($50) or early admission ($40) ticket, you will receive entry into the festival one hour early. There will be unlimited beer tasting from more than 35 North Carolina breweries. In the center of it all will be the VIP beer garden equipped with plenty of benches, tables and umbrellas (as well as a brewery mini pub and oyster bar).

A big attraction this year will feature Stoke Charlotte’s very own exceptional chef, Christopher Coleman. He has designed a delicious three course menu in the format of an appetizer, entree and dessert all featuring the festival’s specialty brew, “Fetch Me Another IPA” brewed by Triple C Brewery.

This demonstration will run in 30-minute intervals with the menu as follows:

Appetizer: Beer BBQ glazed carrots, smoked yogurt, pine nut gremolata

Entree: Beer marinated flat iron steak, stir-fried collards and shiitake mushrooms, collard stem chimichurri

Dessert: Peaches in beer caramel sauce

This live demonstration will certainly spark your appetite and leave you feeling inspired to start cooking on your own.

Golden Cow Creamery, Papi Queso and more will be on site as well to keep you fueled throughout the day.

While you are enjoying your local craft brews and tasty food with friends, you can sing along to live music from the River Ratz and U-Phonik on the two stages. There will even be a special guest emceeing that you won’t want to miss out on!

A main supporter of this event, RescuedMe (a nonprofit that aims to provide education, prevention, intervention and adoption services for dogs) will be there, so be sure to bring your furry four-legged friends to enjoy time with fellow pups. This dog-friendly area will consist of plenty of room to run around with shade, couches and water for all.
