Bank of America Stadium was announced yesterday as a group stage host for the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
– BofA Stadium will host a Group C doubleheader on July 15, 2015. One of these games will feature the Mexican National Team, who played in Charlotte in a 2010 friendly and a 2011 Gold Cup group stage match.
– The Gold Cup takes place every two years, and is the official championship of CONCACAF, the continental governing body for soccer in North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
– Fans can sign up for the pre-sale tickets here.
“Well, Charlotte’s officially on the map as a city that will support soccer, no matter who plays. Great for the city and its soccer fans!” – Laurie via Facebook
Why can’t the USMNT play in charlotte for the gold cup. I don’t want to see Mexico play

I’m so glad more soccer games are being brought to Charlotte. Normally I always had to travel to Atlanta to watch some soccer.

While hosting the US National Team would be Charlotte’s coming-out party as a legitimate soccer city, the Gold Cup’s return to Charlotte is great for the city and its budding soccer culture. We’ve got a lot of momentum, with last summer’s World Cup watch parties, the Charlotte Independence and the International Champions Cup. Mexico will be a great draw.
