Breakfast is the important meal of the day, and Snooze Eatery understands that. The Denver-based chain will soon open its first East coast location in Charlotte.
“Charlotte has a fun and energetic, yet inclusive, community vibe,” said Jason Sexton, regional manager of Snooze Eatery. “That sense of community is reflective of Snooze.”
The team at Snooze plans to pair with three local nonprofits within a 5-mile radius to host community days. During these designated days, proceeds from the meals will go directly back to the organizations.
“Plaza Midwood is a great location to start spreading some Snooze. It has a great restaurant scene and a hip crowd,” Sexton said.
As far as the menu, Snooze takes classics and puts a creative breakfast spin on them. Take for instance the pot pie: Snooze takes this old school comfort food and turns it into a breakfast masterpiece, featuring sausage gravy with flaky puff pastry and a ring of hash browns on the side.
Not to be missed is a “secret” dish called the Sinful pancake. It starts with a buttermilk batter with white chocolate chips added in. It’s topped with caramel sauce, candied pecans, cinnamon butter and a large scoop of bacon. It’s not on the menu — but it’s available if you know to ask.
“We can do sweet or savory, whichever you prefer. We have great options for both,” Sexton said. “My personal favorite is the avocado smash benedict,” he added. That dish includes green chili, parmesan, tomatoes and smoked hollandaise.
The full bar will feature everything from chai tea lattes to the Snooze Fashioned, a coffee and bourbon drink that’s a play on the Old Fashioned. Your favorite coffee drinks will also be available, with the cold brew options coming from local favorite Pure Intentions Coffee.
Inside, you’ll find bright colors, an energetic atmosphere and plenty of seats. Outside, you’ll find a nice patio to enjoy your meals.
Snooze plans to open mid June, but it will host a few community days before the official opening. You can find it at 1331 Central Ave., between 6:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
