QUIZ: Can you spot the real Cam Newton hate mail?

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton signals a first down after rushing vs the Tennessee Titans during fourth quarter action at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN. on Sunday, November 15, 2015. The Panthers defeated the Titans 27-10.

Does Cam Newton bother you? You should probably write an open letter about it. You wouldn’t be the first.

All season, people have written to complain about his dance moves, his tearing down of banners, his “cockiness,” his fatherhood and more. Why? Maybe football fans have really high standards. Or maybe they don’t like seeing a young, confident and successful African-American quarterback have a lot of fun playing football.

“I’m an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people,” Newton said recently, “because they haven’t seen nothing that they can compare me to.”

Either way, the letters keep coming. Absurd letters. So absurd that I figured you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between lines from real letters and ones I made up. Can you?

Take our quiz to see if you can spot the real letters from the fake ones.

At risk of giving these absurd letters more views, here’s where the real excerpts came from:
