When asked about favorite foods, or foods you can’t live without, the common answer from many is pizza. Pizza preferences run the gamut. From deep-dish to thin crust, from all the meat to just cheese, there is a pizza for everyone. We have some great options in Charlotte, but there is one that is a standout.
Pizzeria Omaggio is an authentic Italian pizzeria specializing in Roman style pizza where diners can experience a real Italian pizzeria restaurant without needing a passport.
Located in the Metropolitan in Midtown and open for a year and a half, Pizzeria Omaggio features pasta and sandwiches, but the real standout is the pizza.
Pepperoni, Hawaiian, and the ever-popular Margherita are just some of the pizzas that you will find on the menu at Pizzeria Omaggio. With over 20 specialty pizzas and build-your-own options featured on the menu, the focus is always on the ingredients and the level of pizza craftsmanship.
Owner Daniel Siragusa, says that the word “Omaggio” means homage, to pay tribute or respect in Italian. “Upholding the definition of Omaggio is our main focus here,” said Siragusa. “We always strive to create the best experience for our guests on all levels.”
If you are craving carbs other than pizza, the menu has options for you. The spaghetti pomodoro with fresh tomato sauce and grated parmigiano reggiano is a comforting pasta dish. The paesano sandwich with prosciutto crudo, fresh mozzarella, and roasted red peppers served on a baguette puts other sandwiches to shame.
With a seasonal menu and a “pizza of the month” feature, you can try something new each time you visit the restaurant.
Have you tried Pizzeria Omaggio yet? If not, what are you waiting for?
