If you’re like me and wait too long to plan something for New Year’s Eve every year, a beach vacation may be the perfect solution.

Whether you want something low-key or high-class, Myrtle Beach is an excellent option for an unforgettable night. Check out some options below:

With your friends

Skip the brewery crowds and avoid high entry fees and opt for a night on the town. Opt for a fireworks extravaganza instead at Broadway at the Beach. Hard Rock Café throws a huge New Year’s Eve bash every year in the middle of all the action at Broadway at the Beach. Catch a live simulcast from Times Square, a balloon drop, confetti cannons and more!

Venturing to the north end of town? The entertainment megaplex Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach offers shopping, live music and great dining options along the Intracoastal Railway. A fireworks show kicks off at 7 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

With your family

If your kids (or you) can stay up, catch the Painted Man Band from 9 p.m. to midnight in Valor Park at The Market Common. There’s great food and drinks, a kid’s play area, a ball-drop and a midnight fireworks show. Plus, dinner is just a short walk away if you make a reservation at one of the restaurants on the Market Common! Learn more about the Southern Times Square here.

For early birds, there’s Lulu’s Noon Year’s! Food, crafts, kid-safe fireworks, a sandcastle building contest and more await kids and kids-at-heart from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve!

On a date

Turn up the heat at annual New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance Party at the House of Blues. Couples enjoy a night filled with music, dinner, party favors and a midnight champagne toast!

Or, spend a quieter night on a romantic stroll of the gardens, brightened with thousands of hand-lit candles, at Brookgreen. The sculpture garden will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. with refreshments available for purchase and live music playing throughout. Space is limited, so grab your spot early!

What are you waiting for? Book a room with a great off-season rate and Get started planning your amazing beachfront New Year’s Eve today.

  1. Great article by Emma Speckman. Alternate Beach-Holiday Excursion: My family loved singing Christmas carols with the Mayor of Charleston last year. He played piano for the crowds attending the twinkling Charleston Christmas Boat Parade.
