Napa Valley, California, is one of the country’s most popular wine destinations. While many flock to the area each year, you can soon experience a piece of it in Fort Mill.
“With Fort Mill, we noticed it growing at such a great rate that it just made sense,” said Chris Brown, general manager of Napa at Kingsley. “Many people are starting to move out of the city as Charlotte continues to expand. I’m very excited about this area. I’ve even lived in Kingsley myself.”
Napa on Providence has been serving some of Charlotte’s best wines over the past seven years, and the new sister concept will be very similar. On the menu, you can expect to find the Napa brand’s favorites, such as meatballs and the duck duo — an oven-roasted breast and confit leg with walnut risotto, shaved fennel, orange and duck orange glaze.
What will set the two restaurants apart will be the nightly, chef-inspired specials. Executive Chef Michael Griswold will bring his own spin to the daily features, with many of the ingredients being locally sourced from around South Carolina.
Expect to experience some amazing wines at this location, as well. All of the wines available will come from California’s wine country.
“We will have around 12 wines on tap. You’ll be able to get wines that are not normally offered by the glass here.”
Just like the original location, Kingsley will utilize special Napa technology that allows them to dispense wines that are protected in a temperature- and air-controlled unit. The technology gives customers the chance to try aged wines that normally don’t hold well in a barrel.
Ambiance is very important to this team, as well. Guests will be met with a very clean and open aesthetic. As diners walk in, they will immediately be drawn to the wine tower, which features 700 bottles that separate the bar area from the dining room.
No matter where you go within the restaurant, you will be able to see into just about any other part, including the kitchen.
“You’ll really feel like you’re with everyone in the restaurant,” he said.
Reservations are now available via Open Table or phone for dinner. Lunch service will begin in early August.
