Fork!, 20517 N. Main St., Cornelius: $10 to $14 for brunch dishes with a seasonal/local spin. $7 mimosas and $8 Bloody Marys. Hours: 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Reservations: Yes. 704-655-7465.
Haymaker, 225 S. Poplar St.: It’s not regularly open for weekend brunch yet, but they’re making an exception for Mother’s Day. Expect a special brunch menu with seasonal Southern-inspired dishes. Price range: $10-$16. Blood orange mimosas: $9. Reservations: Yes. 704-626-6116.
littleSpoon, 2820 Selwyn Ave.: The reopened Myers Park brunch restaurant has a wide menu, with shared items (mini biscuits with bacon fat butter, cinnamon toast brulee) for $5.50-$11, larger things like bowls and plates for $9 to $13, and hand-held things like biscuit sandwiches and tacos for $9 to $16. Cocktails run from $10 to $15, including the Orangina Mimosa. Reservations: No. 704-496-9908.
Haberdish, 3106 N. Davidson St.: The brunch menu runs on weekdays, but on Sundays, you can get the full dinner menu, with the addition of chicken & waffles. (Yes, you want that.) Price range: $5 to $10 for appetizers, $7.50 to $26 for entrees, $6-$8 for desserts. Full cocktail menu. Reservations: No, but you can use the Nowait app. 704-817-1084.
Zada Jane’s Corner Cafe, 1601 Central Ave. A mix of classic and creative dishes, with vegan and vegetarian options, and some Mother’s Day specials. Price range: $7.95 to $9.95. Mimosas are $6.50 and bottles of sparkling wine are half-price. No reservations. 704-332-3663.
The Yolk, 1912 Mount Gallant Road, Rock Hill: With the slogan “A Love Affair With Breakfast,” it’s always worth the drive. Expect Mother’s Day brunch specials inspired by chef Gregory Collier’s mother. Lots of local ingredients and Southern-inspired breakfast dishes (but no mimosas). Flying Biscuit Cafe, Park Road Shopping Center and Stonecrest at Piper Glen: Southern-inspired comfort food. Mothers all get a chocolate-covered strawberry on Mother’s Day. Mothers you’ve driven to drink
5Church, 5th and Church streets. They’re doing a full buffet with traditional breakfast dishes, a raw bar (crab legs, shrimp, smoked salmon and oysters), carved New York strips and an omelet station. Corkbuzz, 4905 Ashley Park Lane (near South Park). The brunch menu ranges from sophisticated breakfast spins (brioche French toast) to salads and burgers. Brunch cocktails (mimosas, Bloody Marys, screwdrivers and bellinis) are all $5. For Mother’s Day. they’re doing a special “roses and rose” three-course menu for $40, and bottles of Champagne are half price. Reservations: Yes. Price range: $8 to $16. Heist, 2909 N. Davidson St.: For $19, you get an extensive all-you-can-eat breakfast-style buffet, plus one entree you order separately. Cocktails are where it gets interesting: $6 for a bacon Bloody Mary or mimosa with a choice of juice ($15 for a carafe of those mimosas), or $9-$10 for house cocktails. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Reservations: No. 704-375-8260.
Fahrenheit, 222 S. Caldwell St.: Brunch menu with choices such as King Crab Benedict, duck-fat cinnamon rolls and bacon s’mores waffles from $7 to $15. Cocktails: $7 for mimosas and Bloody Marys; $12 to $15 for cocktails. 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Sunday. Reservations: Yes. 980-237-6718.
300 East, 300 East Blvd.: The Sunday brunch menu has plenty of eggs and benedicts, but for Mother’s Day, expect specials and sweet dishes from pastry chef Ashley Boyd. They can seat groups of up to six. They’ll also have half-price bottles of wine and $4.50 mimosas and Bloody Marys. 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Reservations: Yes. 704-332-6507.
Stewart Penick’s Terrace, South Park and Ballantyne: Indulgent breakfasts are always their thing, especially sweet twists such as red velvet waffles drizzled with cream cheese icing ($11.50, $6 if you want that with fried chicken) and carrot cake pancakes. 4625 Piedmont Road Dr. in SouthPark, 704-554-6177, and 14815 Ballantyne Village Way, 704-369-5190. Cafe Monte, 6700 Fairview Road: The French cafe in SouthPark goes sweet in the mornings, with crepes, Belgian waffles (including gluten-free versions) and brioche French toast with choices of Nutella, maple syrup, banana flambes and berry compotes, in addition to traditional breakfast dishes. $8 to $12. Amelie’s, multiple locations: Sweet and savory breakfast options. Three of the locations (380 S. College St., Park Road Back Lot and Carmel Commons, 7715 Pineville Matthews Road) have spring mimosas (Grapefruit Tarragon + Mint, Raspberry Rhubarb and cotton candy) for $8 each. No reservations.
Mothers you really owe
Aix En Provence, 545B Providence Road: Usually closed Sundays, but they make an exception for Mother’s Day. Three-course menu of traditional dishes, including French-style desserts, for $42. Gallery Restaurant at the Ballantyne, 10000 Ballantyne Commons Parkway: Contemporary Southern buffet with a dessert spread, mimosas and Bloody Marys and live music from noon to 4 p.m. $95 (plus tax and 24 percent service charge) per person, $40 for ages 5 to 12, free for ages 4 and younger. BLT Steak at the Ritz Carlton, 110 N. College St.: In addition to the regular brunch menu ($15 to $50), you can go for the new $49 Sunday Roast program: Chef Matt Slezak picks a special cut and serves it. For Mother’s Day, he’ll do prime rib with bacon and onion popovers, a side and two sauces. They’ll also have extended hours (11 a.m.-9 p.m., in case your mother sleeps really late), along with half-price wine bottles and $5 Bloody Marys and mimosas. Reservations: Yes. 704-972-4380.

Trade St. in the Marriott City Center: New spring daytime menu (6:30 a.m.-4 p.m. daily) includes brunch classics such as ricotta-stuffed French toast, Italian-style avocado toast and grain bowls, plus heartier entrees such as dipped fried chicken and shrimp and grits.
