An (Im)perfect Proposal Hunter had planned a trip for him and Emily to Charleston, where he planned to propose. But before they left, someone accidentally spoiled the surprise. “We were both devastated that the engagement was no longer a surprise, but Hunter wanted to keep his original plan to propose at Magnolia Plantation,” Emily says. They arrived on Thursday and started the weekend with a delicious seafood dinner and cocktails. But when they got back to the hotel, Hunter decided he couldn’t wait any longer. He proposed right there in the hotel room and was able to surprise Emily.

Modern Boho The mix of a modern city venue with a dusty pastel color scheme, gold accents, tropical flowers and crystal elements created a unique wedding style that Emily calls “modern boho.” They took their engagement photos at the Pineapple Fountain in Charleston and incorporated pineapple images with decorations.

A Personal Touch For Emily, the best part of her wedding day was the ceremony because they both wrote their own vows. “It was so special to share our love story with everyone and start our marriage with such meaningful, heartfelt words,” she says. But her second favorite part was dancing with all of her friends to the playlist she created.
