    GREENWOOD COUNTY is currently recruiting for the following position:

    County Treasurer (Finance Director)

    As a progressive community located in the upstate of South Carolina, with a population of more than 70,000, Greenwood County serves as the economic epicenter for the region. Greenwood County is currently seeking the services of a qualified Treasurer (Finance Director) to join the leadership team of the County and to make a substantial contribution to the betterment of the lives of the County’s residents. The ideal candidate, under limited supervision, will be adept in long-range planning, independent judgment and problem solving. Additional key requirements include a strong background in the direction of accounts payable and receivable, grants, accounting, managing and reporting of the funds of the County of Greenwood, as well as the funds of other entities for which the County acts as agent. In addition, develops the County and department budget, supervises, plans and directs the activities of subordinate professional, technical and clerical staff. This position is highly visible and demands excellence in communication and presentation abilities.

    Minimum Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in accounting supplemented by five years of experience in public finance or auditing, some of which has been in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

    Preferred Training and Experience: three (3) years of experience as a County or City Treasurer (Finance Director) and a Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration and CPA, CGFO and/or CPFO designations along with a proven track record of strong public sector financial management.

    Experience with Munis software a plus.
