How to jump start your New Year’s resolutions at the YMCA

Balancing a healthy diet and exercise with holiday celebrations might seem as elusive as your grandmother’s cranberry salad recipe, but the Y makes it easy this season to take care of you. This December 1 through 7, you can get a jump start on 2018 by joining the YMCA of Greater Charlotte and pay nothing until 2018.

Y members can access state-of-the-art equipment, lap pools and more than 300 classes each week from yoga to barre to kick boxing to strength and conditioning. A variety of instructors, class levels and intensity means everyone can the find their fit at the Y.

“Being healthy is more than just physical activity, it’s about maintaining a balanced spirit, mind and body, especially during the holidays,” commented Yolanda Pitchford, association executive director of membership.

With 19 branches in a four-county area, it’s easy to find a location near work and home. But the Y is more than a series of buildings. “What makes the Y special is the sense of community,” said Pitchford. “At the Y, we have incredible staff and members who come together every day to connect and support each other. You can’t find that anywhere else.”
