Get free beer and home buying advice at Lenny Boy Brewing Co. on March 1

This post is brought to you in partnership with Savvy + Co. Real EstateAll opinions are our own.

What goes best with free beer? We say just about anything. But on March 1 you can actually sip on a cold one AND get something valuable that you can use for the rest of your life – information about the home buying process. The knowledgeable people at Savvy + Co. Real Estate are hosting a First Time Home Buyer Happy Hour from 6-8 p.m. at Lenny Boy Brewing Co. and want you to know the good, the bad, the ugly and the really fun stuff that goes with putting down roots and making strides in your financial future.

Need some other reasons to start thinking about making the move? Here are our top four.  This is a no pressure event, just nice people with information about how to really get this adulting thing off the ground. Oh, and free beer.

A place of your own

We know you like your venti coffee frappucino with two scoops of ice, five pumps of frap roast and double blended. And with a home of your own you can bring your own style and taste to every nook and cranny. “Buying a home is a step towards more personal freedom.  Buyers are free to redecorate, upgrade, make improvement or alterations that were not permissible in a rental environment,” says Savvy + Co. Agent Joshua Zane Starnes. “Home ownership has fewer rules. Something basic like noise levels are contentious points in an apartment complex and pets and kids can have a more noisy kind of fun in a house versus and apartment.” After all, from the front door to the garden in the back, owning your home means not worrying about decorating someone else’s property. This is yours…all yours.

Make an investment

Renting might offer freedom in some aspects, but owning a home is a step towards financial security – especially in a market like Charlotte. “It is never to early to save for retirement. Instead of throwing away rent, invest in real estate. Charlotte values continue to rise. It is a great time to buy with interest rates from four to five percent,” says Tim Wells, an agent with Savvy + Co. Real Estate. And speaking of money, no matter where you are on your financial journey, talking with an agent is a great first step. They can talk about what you can be taking now to help you get closer to walking through your very own front door.

Get the information you need

Savvy + Co. Real Estate agents work with buyers just like you every day. They know the area, understand the business and can give real time and truthful information. You’ve started doing research online, now bring your questions and ideas to the experts and make a plan. There are so many first time home buyers that are fearful of taking that first step into home ownership. Attending Savvy’s First Time Home Buyer event will give you the tools and the information that can help educate and guide you through this process,” says Savvy + Co. Real Estate agent Susan Wright. “It is a privilege when I have the opportunity to work with first time buyers to help them realize they can afford a home.”

Have someone on your side

The road to home ownership can be bumpy but having a knowledgeable, experienced agent in the front seat can make for a smoother ride. From looking for a home that is perfect for you and your family to negotiating the sale and following through with repairs and other vendors, a real estate agent is your best resource – especially in a busy market. “The First Time Homebuyer Event is a great opportunity to speak one-on-one with an experienced real estate agent about how the home buying process works,” says Lynn Johnson a Savvy + Co. Real Estate agent. “In this multiple offer, low inventory market we are currently in, an agent can advise you on how to maneuver a challenging sellers’ market.”

You’ve got it in your Google calendar and the goal in mind – owning a home. Enjoy the free beer, great advice and helpful people of Savvy + Co. Real Estate March 1 at Lenny Boy Brewing Co. for the Home Buyer event.
