If you are anything like me, the start of fall means a trip to Starbucks for a selfie with your pumpkin spice latte. However, for the thrill seekers out there, the crisp air and falling leaves signify that it is time to get scared to death. Whether that be haunted hayrides, mazes or houses, the Charlotte area offers a good amount of spooky attractions that are bound to give you a good scare.

Here are 8 haunted attractions in the Charlotte area that will satisfy your Halloween-inspired, thrill-seeking needs:

(1) Horror Fields

Rated number one top overall attraction by North Carolina Haunted Houses last year,  Horror Fields offers seven interactive attractions (with names like “Asylum” and “Flesh Factory”) in which actors can actually touch or grab you. Don’t worry, if you are a wimp like me (or normal person), they offer glow sticks to wear around your neck that tell the actors you do not wish to be touched.

4276 Helena St., Hudson, NC (about 1.5 hours from Uptown)

General Admission: $20
