Cali Stott of Cali Stott Makeup Artistry shares how to achieve one of this season’s trends: a fresh, glowing complexion. The key: layering an illuminator and highlighter onto the high points of the face to create a beautiful radiance look that is soft and simple but stunning!
Start by prepping the face with a primer like one of my favorites by Becca’s Backlight Priming Filter ($38, Sephora).
While your primer is settling, create a very natural eyeshadow look using a fusion of gold and burnt orange hues all over the lid. A beautiful palette for this look is Tarte’s In Bloom Clay Eyeshadow Palette ($46, Sephora).
To add definition, to the eyes use a touch of soft brown liner smudged with chocolate brown shadow. I recommend Tom Ford Kohl Eyeliner ($36, Sephora).
To give an all-over soft glow, add a few drops of liquid highlighter to your favorite liquid foundation. I’m obsessed with Makeup Revolution’s Liquid highlighter ($9, Ulta) which I mix with my favorite foundation by Makeup Forever. Then I gently blend it in all over my face with my fingertips or a Beauty Blender ($20, Sephora).
Give your cheeks a little color with one of my newfound favorites by Nars’ Liquid Blush ($30, Nordstrom). Add a drop to the cheeks and lightly blend in a circular motion and upward with your fingertips.
Now for the fabulous highlight, I mixed one of my favorite bronzers with a hint of pearlescent highlighter from the cheekbone to your hairline to help create a lit-from-within glow. I used Lorac TANtalizer Bronzing Powder ($32, Ulta) and Too Faced Candlelight Glow Highlighting Powder Duo ($30 Sephora).
You can layer this look with more highlighter, or to follow one of this year’s trends, add a little bit of gold to the cheekbones. I recommend Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter ($34, Sephora).
For the final touch, I applied a soft-pink lipstick and translucent lip gloss. Try MAC’s Cremesheen Lipstick in Creme Cup ($17.50, Nordstrom).
