Forget unicorns. We found the best men’s gift store you (possibly) haven’t visited yet [Partner]

Finding the perfect gift for those special men in your life is like searching for unicorns, Smurfs or a nonfat ice cream worth grabbing a spoon for. Enter The Sporting Gent, located on Selwyn Avenue on the side of a strip of shops across from Colony Road (where Edible Art is located). When you walk into the beautiful store with hardwood floors and a cozy feel you are greeted by owner Marc Williams with “Welcome to the clubhouse.”

And that is what it exactly feels like. A place where you are invited to have fun (because these guys are), look around and find exactly what you are looking for. Consider this your personal invitation. Below are five items that will put a smile on his face and won’t break the bank. Yeah clubhouse!

Homemade Hot Sauce Kit, $45

It’s an activity, it’s a hot sauce, it’s the perfect gift. What’s not to love?

Woody’s Socks, $15

These socks are high quality, colorful and a lot of fun. Add some “shazam” to his work suit wardrobe. And they make great stocking stuffers. Get it? Stocking stuffers.

Yeti Rambler, $29.99

Who doesn’t want a Yeti anything for a gift this season? As I was leaving the store I passed by a HUGE incoming shipment of Yeti products. Coolers, mugs and everything Yeti in between. Perfect.

A Southern Gentleman’s Kitchen, $32

This cookbook by Southern Living, “Adventures in Cooking, Eating and Living in the New South,” is just the thing for the chef in your life or that guy with aspirations to go beyond boiling water. It’s a cookbook for men so it will look extra masculine in his kitchen and it’s by Southern Living, so you know it’s good. We will be looking for our dinner invitation.

Bulletprufe Denim pants, $98

I’ve saved the best for last. Marc tells me these pants are made by a Charlottean and The Sporting Gent is the only place you can find them. Marc describes Bulletprufe pants as the “The.Best.Pants.Ever.” He also notes he is a better dancer when wearing a pair. While I was in the store, at least five women purchased a pair.

I’m not sure which was more fun, exploring all the fantastic gift possibilities or watching Marc and his staff having a great time doing what they love to do. Stop in, get your list finished up and let us know if those pants make the men in your life better dancers. If so, I’ll take two.
