Ready to celebrate Women’s History Month with a song in your heart and a beat in your feet? The Jazz Room is the place to be as five uber talented female jazz musicians take center stage Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and lead a panel discussion Friday afternoon.

Honor the women in your life, experience incredible talent, hear the next generation of female jazz musicians and start the weekend right with Women in Jazz at The Jazz Room.

Experience the magic of an all-female quintet

The Women in Jazz superstar quintet includes Venezuelan performer Linda Briceño; 25-year-old phenom Ariel Pocock; musician, composer, bandleader, recording artist, educator and activist Roxy Coss; one of the world’s hottest new Latin American musicians, Karina Colis; and Tokyo-born Kuriko Tsugawa on the bass.

Prepare to be blown away when these five ladies take the stage for a full on, throw down, game changing, show-them-how-to-do-it jazz jam session. These award-winning performers each light up the stage on their own, but put them together and kapow—it’s mic-dropping time.

The ultimate GNO

If you haven’t experienced one of Charlotte’s best music venues at The Jazz Room, this is THE month to discover your new favorite spot. Grab your girlfriends, SO, work squad or family members and bask in the unique vibe of five women commanding the stage with joy, laughter, storytelling and tributes to women in jazz.

All of this bonding and girl power includes right-priced tickets ($14 in advance and $16 at the door), fantastic seats, and adult and regular beverages to keep you smiling.

Panel discussion and performances

Ever wish you could be in the presence of talented female musicians and hear first hand about their experiences in the jazz world? Consider your wish granted. Continue the ongoing national conversation about the empowerment of women and get your inspiration fix Friday at noon at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library Main Branch in the Francis Auditorium. Feel free to bring your lunch and make it the best lunch date of the year.

Now that you know the players, it is time to see these trail blazers in action! Start the weekend right on time with a Thursday night performance at 6 p.m. or 8:15 p.m. Or opt old school with a Friday performance at 6 p.m. or 8:15 p.m., or Saturday at 7 p.m. or 9:15 p.m.

Get your girl power on, learn something new and be entertained with Women in Jazz at The Jazz Room this weekend.
