This post is brought to you in partnership with Charlotte Mechanical. All opinions are our own.

We understand that sometimes life is, well… life. It isn’t always easy to dust off your superhero cape and do something good for your neighbors in need.

Luckily, the Charlotte Mechanical 7th Annual Coat Drive makes giving back easy and fun. Here’s how you can get involved.

Donate a coat

Charlotte Mechanical has a HUGE goal of collecting 5,000 new or gently used coats. Think about it. Those coats just hanging in your closet with nowhere to go can make life a whole lot more comfortable for someone in need. They take coats of all sizes so we say clean out all your closets! Once you’ve assembled the goods, find a drop off location near home or work and start enjoying that warm fuzzy do-good feeling immediately.

Make a difference

Once collected, Crisis Assistance Ministry will distribute the coats to families in need. And all those warm and wonderful coats are going to people right here in the Charlotte area. The coat drive ends November 17 so we say get going.

Celebrate Nov. 17

Even superhero’s need to celebrate! Grab your friends and family and head out to Dilworth Neighborhood Grille for the coat drive wrap up party on November 17. You’ll find food, entertainment, a live broadcast from ESPN Charlotte, raffle prizes, appearances by Sir Purr, Chubby Checker, the Checkmates and more. The party goes from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and they love for you to stop by.  We love when doing good ends with having fun.

Before the holiday craziness takes over, do some good for someone in your community. It’s an easy way to make a big difference.
