In Charlotte, fall colors have nothing to do with the changing of the leaves but the start of college football season. The pastels of summer attire are replaced with the bold expressions of college pride as alumni clubs take over area sports bars. Step into Strike City on college game day and you’ll find the place awash with the scarlet and grey of Ohio State fans. Of course, don’t get caught wearing those colors at Tavern on The Tracks, that’s enemy territory where Michigan faithful blaze their blue and maize. Even North Dakota State fans have a weekly meeting spot!

Cheer on your alma mater at one of these college football watch parties.

There are a lot of college football programs in this country. I did my best to consolidate as thorough of a list as I could without making this post resemble a phone book. If I missed your school, I promise that is no slight on the seminary of high learning that you list on your resume. Kindly provide your college fan club’s information below, and we’ll update our list.

  1. Mr. Richards,

I have to submit that that omission of Angry Ales and the Appalachian Football watching experience is a travesty on the level of Duke football in general. Not only is the bar standing room only and spilling out onto the parking lot when the Mountaineers take the field. But the App State alums is prevalent in Charlotte and may I say the most good looking Alumni in the state. A front page correction would be the least one could do for such an oversight.

    Sincerely,

    Yosef

  2. Selwyn Pub is the official watch party bar of Wake Forest as of this year. There are game watches there each weekend and Deacon-themed drinks as well.
