What if I told you there is a quaint, vibrant neighborhood between Plaza Midwood and Elizabeth that offers an easy, 10-minute commute to Uptown? Don’t think it is possible? We didn’t believe it ourselves, then we talked with Genevieve Williams of Savvy + Co. Real Estate. She convinced us Chantilly is the place to be.

Older neighborhood, amazing updates

This older, private neighborhood is recognized by its oak-lined streets lined with charming homes constructed in the 1940s. “Original Chantilly homes were typically 1,000 square-feet, two bedroom homes,” says Genevieve. Newer residents have come in and done some amazing updates to accommodate growing families while keeping the character of the area. All this and oh-la-la curb appeal. We say yes please!

Tight-knit communities

Your home can be anywhere but the neighborhood makes all the difference. With under 700 homes, this is a tight-knit community. Chantilly residents pride themselves on taking care of neighbors and impromptu block parties are a regular occurrence. Throughout the year you can find friends and neighbors at the Spring Fling, ice cream socials, the Hilly Chantilly 5K Road Race and annual Halloween Parade.

Greenways and sanctuaries

Chantilly-ians live in harmony with each other and the beautiful natural surroundings. This area will soon be home of the Chantilly Ecological Sanctuary which includes access to the Greenway Trail and will serve as a sanctuary for waterfowl and other wildlife. The project should be completed by fall 2017.

Walk this way

Chantilly is a quick walk, skip and a jump (or whatever your preferred mode of travel) to Plaza Midwood and Elizabeth. Head towards Plaza Midwood to find popular restaurants like Soul Gastrolounge, the popular Thomas Street Tavern, Legion Brewing and more. Or make a day of it in Elizabeth with lunch at the mouth-watering Bang, Bang, Burger (don’t forget the Bang Bang sauce), cool treats at Elizabeth Creamery and a good work out at Okra Yoga. Leave the car at home, you’ll be glad you did.
