What to expect Saturday at the second annual Charlotte Kids Fest

This Saturday, September 22 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. marks the 2nd annual Charlotte Kids Fest at UNC Charlotte. Be sure to make plans to attend this free, family-filled day of fun! You won’t want to miss all that is in store.

Charlotte Kids Fest

The whole day will be packed with live demonstrations, games, meet and greets with characters, book readings, and activities to participate in all throughout the four different zones.

Find the full schedule below:

Create Zone Stage:

  • 11:30 a.m. Lego Robotics with Digi-Bridge
  • 12:15 p.m. Learn how to build balloon creations
  • 1 p.m. Observe and learn juggling
  • 1:45 p.m. Create festival art on a shared canvas hosted by Painting with Perceptions
  • 2:30 p.m. Lego robotics with Digi-Bridge
  • 3:15 p.m. Creating magic

Learn Stage:

  • 11:30 a.m. Musical chair trivia hosted by Diaper Duty
  • 12:15 p.m. Just Perfect Kids book reading
  • 1 p.m. The Tale of Two Friends book reading
  • 1:45 p.m. Learn how to create the lights and sounds of the big stage hosted by Eye Dialogue
  • 2:30 p.m. Just Perfect Kids book reading
  • 3:15 p.m. Musical chair trivia hosted by Diaper Duty

Play Stage:

Festival Circle Story Time Stage:

  • 11:30 a.m. Cat in the Hat with Thing 1 and Thing 2
  • 12:15 p.m. Pinkalicious
  • 1 p.m. Harry Potter
  • 1:45 p.m. Charlie Brown and Lucy
  • 2:30 p.m. Neon Leon
  • 3:15 p.m. I Got the Rhythm and Giraffes Can’t Dance

Not only will there be this full line-up of activities in each zone, but several exhibits will be set up throughout the day where children and parents will be able to learn, experiment, and participate in hands on sessions.

Parking is free during the festival courtesy of Parks Chevrolet. You will be able to access the UNC parking garage right next to the festival grounds. Or, this year there is the option to take the new Blue Lynx light rail all the way to the festival grounds. You won’t want to miss out on this year’s Charlotte Kids Fest!
