Charlotte Kids Fest is back for a second year on Saturday, Sept. 22 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at UNC Charlotte with an even bigger line-up of activities, games, demonstrations and dancing than last year.
This free festival strives to inspire and motivate young minds with professional, artistic, creative, educational and playful experiences that transforms a child’s understanding of the world around them and what is possible.
Here is everything you need to know to plan for your fun, family-filled day:
UNC Charlotte at 9100 Robert D Snyder Road. New to this year’s festival is the option of taking the newly expanded LYNX Blue Line all the way to the start of the festival grounds. Or, you can park for free in the UNC parking garage right next to the festival grounds courtesy of one of the festival’s sponsor, Parks Chevrolet.
These four main designated areas listed below are how the festival is broken up throughout the day. Each one will have different activities, games and appearance all throughout the day for both kids and parents to enjoy.
This zone is focused around building and learning from creating magic, to building LEGO robotics and everything in between, sponsored by Walmart.
In this zone, children will enjoy character book readings and experience live science demonstrations sponsored by Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS).
This zone is focused on being active, living a healthy lifestyle and getting outside. Featured here will be kids yoga, mixed martial arts and a meet and greet with Mr. Know sponsored by Atrium Health.
Sponsored by University City Partners in conjunction with Chick-Fil-A, there will be a fun-filled dance party throughout the festival with an upbeat, awesome local DJ, the famous Chick-Fil-A cow and some of your beloved superheroes.
This is a free event, from the parking, to admission, to activities all day long! So grab your little ones and head out to the Charlotte Kids Fest on Sept. 22!
