Deciding on your Halloween plans can be a challenge, especially if you want to rock out in your Bride of Frankenstein costume. Thankfully, Carolina Voices has put together a hauntingly good time with their upcoming concert, Monsters & Monstrosities on October 27 and 28 at the Duke Energy Theater at Spirit Square.

If you’re new to live a cappella music, this high-energy form of singing without instruments has swept Charlotte and the nation over the last several years thanks to the Pitch Perfect movies and The Sing-Off on NBC. Both projects highlight coach/producer Deke Sharon’s work; he recently worked with Impromptu and other a cappella groups in Charlotte.

With all this in mind, here’s what you can expect on Impromptu’s night of music and mayhem:

Watch the Impromptu ensemble perform hits with a spooky twist.  Enjoy hits like Gravedigger (originally performed by Dave Matthews Band), Stitches (Frankenstein) The Grim Reaper (Enter Sandman) and Light in the Hallway (Pentatonix), among other favorites.

Beware (in a good way) of ghoulish makeup and wild costumes. Not only will this event be a feast for the ears, but for your eyes as well. The ensemble will be decked out in outrageous costumes while singing pop hits old and new.

Laugh at the comedy intertwined with music. What’s Halloween without some tongue-in-cheek humor? Improv and some laughs are all part of the a cappella show, making it a Monster Smash (last Halloween-related pun, promise.)

Marvel at Beatbox Artist, Bradley Blumer. For the first time in Impromptu’s history, the show will feature a guest beatbox artist for an extra twist on this Halloween extravaganza.

If this sounds like a howl-at-the-moon good time for you, tickets are available here for only $20 per person. For more information about the upcoming concert, visit their website.
