The Metropolitan’s fall concert series features an eclectic mix of genres performed by local and regional artists. Enjoy an evening of live music with a great view of the Charlotte skyline. Enjoy specials from the restaurants and shopping at the boutiques.

(2) Move Your Body at Mint to Move

Friday, Oct. 13, 7:30-11:30 p.m. $12. Mint Museum Uptown, 500 S. Tryon St.


The Mint Museum Uptown is throwing a cultural dance night that cannot be rivaled. Come for Afro-Cuban and Latin-American rhythms from DJs and live musicians. Dance lessons included. Guests can kizomba, semba, salsa, bachata, cha cha, line dance and step to other dance forms relative to various global communities as well as enjoy other performing and visual art (including live painting) by local artists. Catch the free dance lessons at 7:45 p.m. and 9 p.m.

(3) Enjoy the Season at the First Ward Fall Festival

Friday-Saturday, Oct. 13 ( 6- 9 p.m.) and Oct. 14 (2-9 p.m.) Free. First Ward Park, 301 E. 7th St.


Get in the spirit of the season with a free fall festival filled with roots and blues music, local food trucks and craft beer and wine. Don’t forget your blankets and chairs if you want to get cozy.

(4) Grub Out at the Southeast Asian Street Food Festival

Saturday, Oct. 14, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Free. 1817 Central Ave.


Hit the 4th Annual Southeast Asian Street Food Festival for everything from a pho-eating contest, to performances, to food from all over Southeast Asia. All proceeds benefit the SEAC youth program.

(5) Chow Down at Dilworth South End Chili Cook-Off

Sunday, Oct. 13, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. $10. All Nations Coffee, 101 W. Worthington Ave.


Grab a ticket to taste test chilis from local restaurants and community members alike. When you need a break from chowing down, toss some cornhole, paint a pumpkin and jam out to live tunes. All of the proceeds at this family friendly event will benefit local charities.
