Making Strides Against Breast Cancer raises money to fund innovative breast cancer research, provide free information and support and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find cancer in the early stages when it is most treatable.

What is Making Strides?
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Greater Charlotte is a non-competitive 5k walk that brings people together to make a difference for everyone who has been touched by breast cancer. While there is no registration fee to join the walk, everyone is encouraged to donate and fundraise as much as they are able.

When and where is the walk?
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Greater Charlotte will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at the AvidXchange Music Factory. Registration opens at 8 a.m., and the walk begins at 10 a.m.
“Thanks to the dedication of passionate individuals in our community, there is no limit to the impact we can make when we unite together,” said Felisha Fletcher, American Cancer Society (ACS) Senior Manager, Community Development. “There’s no superpower better than saving lives, and those who register and fundraise for our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Charlotte are doing just that — helping ACS save more lives.”
Where do the funds go?
In addition to groundbreaking breast cancer research, funds raised from Making Strides Against Breast Cancer of Greater Charlotte are used to provide Charlotte-area cancer patients with free rides to life-saving treatments and free nights of lodging to cancer patients and caregivers who need to travel to the Charlotte area for treatment.
