How they met On a dating app where they were a 98% match. Where they got engaged Joe took Flavia on a day-long adventure that included spa treatments, text messages with instructions of where she was to go next, and an Uber ride with an unknown, to Flavia, destination. The driver took her to Romare Bearden Park and there, at the rock they met at on their first date (also pictured above), was Joe ready to propose with a photographer to capture the moment.

True Colors On their first date, Flavia decided she had nothing to lose, so she wore a pair of “off-the-wall” patterned pants, which Joe took notice of immediately.Wedding in three words Absolutely Fabulous Day. Color palette Pinks and gold. First dance song “You Are The Best Thing” by Ray LaMontagne. Favors Porcelain cheese board and knife.

Winter wonderland It snowed prior to Flavia and Joe’s winter wedding, which created a unique situation. The weather in Charlotte is unpredictable in the winter and minimal snow can cause chaos,” says Flavia. “We had issues with two vendors the morning of our wedding due to the snow. We got through it, but it was NOT the best experience to deal with in addition to normal wedding day jitters.”

Advice for brides“If you plan to do a winter wedding in Charlotte, make sure you discuss alternate weather accommodations with your vendors,” says Flavia.  Advice for grooms “Relax and do whatever she needs you to do,” says Joe.

Honeymoon Three weeks traveling around Bali, Indonesia and Phuket, Thailand. Favorite date night Eating sushi and then going to an arcade bar.
Delicate details “I am obsessed with the smallest details,” says Flavia. “For example, my cake had to have the exact same lace pattern as my dress and my charger plates had to match the Chiavari chairsand my seating chart frame.”
