Charlotte has never looked so pretty [Kylee & Paul]

I waited months for the most romantic setting to ask the biggest question of our lives. The moment came last September, during our first vacation together in the Caribbean.

During our weeklong stay in the Dominican Republic, we went horseback riding, zip lining, and got aromatherapy massages. It was amazing, and after dinner on the last night of our stay, I took Kylee’s hand and invited her to take a walk on the beach. The air was warm with a breeze. The sea was calm. The sky was bright with stars, and a full moon illuminated the shoreline. We were the only ones on the beach. It felt like the setting was made just for us.

We walked to a canopy with a bed and pillows, and stopped to relax. Then I began to tell Kylee just how much she means to me. I told her she’s the most complete person I’ve ever known. With her, I have a spiritual, intellectual, and emotional bond like never before. She inspires me, motivates me, makes me laugh, and provides guidance. And she’s the most stunning woman I’ve ever met.

Then I got down off the bed, dropped to one knee, and reached in my pocket for the diamond engagement ring I’d miraculously hidden from her throughout the trip, and said: “If I promise to make it my mission to make you the happiest person I can every day, to make you feel as
special as you make me feel, I have a question to ask you: Will you marry me?”

“Yes!” she replied, smiling. Then we embraced in a long hug and kiss that lasted for what felt
like hours. —As told by Paul

Kylee and Paul were married March 19, 2016.
