You could be the person who runs out at the last-minute on Valentine’s Day to find something — anything — to get that special someone in your life. But you don’t want to be that person.
If you live or work uptown, you have several shopping options this week to find that perfect, unique and local gift for your valentine.
According to a release from Charlotte Center City Partners, there are five pop-up shops in uptown for your shopping needs. They are:
(1) Blue Hem Pop-Up
Feb. 8-13, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Latta Arcade (320 S. Tryon St.)
We mentioned this place before when it set up shop for Christmas and apparently it’s still hanging around in Latta Arcade. The shop offers high-quality, designer jeans.
Perfect for: The special someone in your life who is still buying jeans at Walmart.
(2) Elsa Fine: A Pop-Up
Feb. 8-12, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., 221 S. Tryon St.
Elsa Fine, the Charlotte “all-encompasing shopping destination,” is hosting this pop-up shop with local vendors Voila Paper Co., Stix+Stones, Vidalia Vogue, Tah Tah Makeup, Elizabeth Heard Barrettes and Let’s Put a Bird On It.
Perfect for: “Your bae or galentines,” according to the release. Shout out to Charlotte Center City Partners for nailing the hip lingo.
(3) 7th Street Public Market Valentine’s Sip & Shop Pop-Up Market
Feb. 12, 2-8 p.m. 7th Street Public Market
Man, that name is a mouthful. So are the 13 local artisans and makers that will join the regular vendors inside the market for this pop-up shop. Ready? Johnny Fly, 704 Shop, Thirty Seven Stars Crochet, eb jewelry studio, Daylight Derived, Created Beautifully, MADDJewels, CLT Boutique, Lighthouse Paper Co., Wood Wonders of N.C., Melody Joy Designs, Bookout Blooms, Carolina Chocolate Company and LIT Candles.
Perfect for: Jeez … anyone, really. With that many vendors, you should be able to find anything you want.

(4) Fashion Truck Pop-Up
Feb. 12 2-8 p.m. 215 E. 7th Street
Can’t find what you need at the 7th Street Market? Walk across the street to the fashion version of Food Truck Friday. You’ll find four fashion trucks there: Curvaceous Closet, The Sole Addiction, Dress like a Girl Mobile Boutique and Mirror Mirror Mobile Accessories Boutique.
Perfect for: People who were really, really upset when they found out the Food Truck Friday lot was getting developed.

(5) VTG CLT Valentine’s Edition
Feb. 10-14, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. 7th Street Public Market.
This “teeny” pop-up shop is the only one of the bunch open on actual Valentine’s Day.
Perfect for: The people who ignored my advice at the top and waited until the last minute but still want to buy local.
