Do you love beer? Do you love saving dogs? The fourth annual South End Hops Festival will combine both of these favorite things on Saturday, May 13.
Here’s what you can do at the festival:
Revel with lots of fellow beer lovers and, well, beer. More than 1,500 attendees are expected to come and enjoy 40 local craft beers including Big Boss Brewing Company, Blue Blaze Brewing Company and Triple C Brewing Company. Enjoy a cold one while listening to live music from Clydes on Fire and The Business People.
Watch the free cooking demonstration. For the first time in the festival’s history, there will be a cooking demonstration from Chef Chris Coleman of Stoke Charlotte. Learn how to make some tasty treats using your brews.
Hang out by the food trucks AND beer garden. These food trucks will be on hand — Feed Your Soul, Papi Queso, Tin Kitchen and Two Chicks and a Truck. The Blue Blaze Brewing Beer Garden is the perfect place to sit and eat your food truck lunch among shade umbrellas, wooden benches and hay bales.
BYOP (Bring Your Own Pooch). Since the event benefits RescuedMe, a non-profit committed to rescuing dogs, rehabilitating them, and placing them in stable, loving homes, your own fur baby is welcome to enjoy the festival.
Support RescuedMe. The Charlotte-based organization helps dogs that would otherwise have no chance for survival. It’s been a volunteer-only operation since 2007, providing education, prevention, intervention and adoption services. Whether you have a dog or are looking to bring one into a loving home, you’ll want to see how you can help this great nonprofit.
