Whether you’re engaged or want to support a friend who’s getting married, local bridal shows are your ticket to all things matrimonial.

Luckily, there’s one coming up in the Charlotte area in time for fall and winter weddings: The Carolina Bridal Fair, happening from noon to 5 p.m. on August 6 with a VIP hour from 11 a.m. – noon. You’ll get to meet wedding professionals, see new trends and a beautiful fashion show presented by David’s Bridal and The Men’s Wearhouse.

Here are the top five things you won’t want to miss at the fair:

The Ellis Jewelers’ “Great Diamond Giveaway.” Be sure to get there early since Bridal Bags are given to the first 300 engaged couples who arrive to the show. One bag per engaged couple. VIP Bags are in limited supply, so sign up for VIP tickets to get yours early. Each Bridal Bag will contain one cubic zirconia and VIP bags will contain two, but only one of them has a special mark. If your cubic zirconia has the special mark, you’ll win a 1/2 CT Round Brilliant Cut Diamond from Ellis Jewelers in Historic Downtown Concord.

Flip Flop Bar. If you’re a bride or bridesmaid in an upcoming wedding, you don’t want to wear heels while you’re getting ready. You want to be comfortable. That’s why you can create your own feel-good footwear at the “Flip Flop Bar.” The first pair is free to brides and each additional pair costs only $5.00 — a great gift for brides to give their bridesmaids.

Ring Selfie Station. Select from a variety of different backdrops, even one that coordinates with your wedding theme. Take a selfie of your engagement ring on the backdrop. While you’re at it, share it with your friends on social media with the hashtag #CarolinaBridalFair.

Name wall. Whether your soon-to-be spouse is going to take your name or you’re taking theirs, it can be fun to experiment with your soon-to-be new name. Be sure to add your new name to the pink brick wall instead of doodling on a post-it by your laptop.

A food drive benefitting Backpacks of Hope and Esther’s Heart for Transformation. One out of every five youth are faced with the reality of going hungry while they’re trying to learn in school which is back in session soon after the show. Every person who brings a food donation to the show will receive a ticket to the prize drawings, so you’ll have a chance to win your share of prizes and help kids in school. If you’re a bride, bring your bridesmaids for an afternoon of tulle and wedding gifts. To get your discounted tickets, visit Carolina Bridal Fair’s website here.
