This year’s Hilton Head Wine and Food Festival promises to be a weekend full of top-notch food from the lowcountry and world-class wines from around the globe. Between tastings, knowledge sessions and more, there will be plenty of activities to keep you satiated. Here are just a few you won’t want to miss:

  1. Grand Tasting- This is the premier event of the week each year at Hilton Head Wine and Food Festival. This year, the tasting will take place in the elegant Harbour Town Clubhouse at Sea Pines Resort, overlooking the 9th green of the world-famous Harbour Town Golf Links (a favorite among PGA tour players). The array of award-winning wines featured are handpicked from a double blind judging prior to the tasting. While you sip and mingle with winemakers and others, enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and live music from local favorites, Lavon & Louise.

2. Veuve Clicquot knowledge session– Learn about “La Grande Dame de la Champagne” behind this iconic brand as well as its intriguing 245-year history. The session will demystify the nuances and complexities of champagne and wine making. And because the best way to learn is to taste, prepare for an effervescent afternoon of champagne sipping.

3. Best of the Best knowledge session– Local sommeliers Camille Copeland and Stephanie Stawski will guide tasters through six wine flights (totaling 18 wines). Each flight will feature one iconic name—like Chateau Montelena or Silver Oak—along with two of the sommeliers’ favorites that you may not know of. While tasting through the wines, Copeland and Stawski will share photos and stories of their many wine adventures from around the world. At the end, you might just discover that your go-to favorite labels become second to some unknown wines you’ll discover during the session.
