This content is brought to you by The Charlotte Observer Top Workplaces program.

If you love where you work, you have more time to let everyone know what makes your employer great. The deadline to nominate a company for our annual employer recognition program is being extended to May 18.

This fall, we’ll publish our fourth annual special section highlighting the Charlotte region’s top companies. It’s free to participate, and a range of companies can apply – public, private, nonprofit or government sector workplace. Companies will be recognized in the small, midsize and large categories.

Workplaces with at least 35 employees, and located in this eight-county region, are eligible: Cabarrus, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg and Union in North Carolina, and Lancaster and York in South Carolina.

Participating companies can expect to hear from Pennsylvania-based research firm Energage, which will conduct the survey. Energage will contact nominated businesses, and ask to reach out to employees with a 24-question survey.

Skookum, a custom software development company, hosted a Project Scientist workshop to help encourage STEM learning among young women. Skookum was named the No. 1 ranking company in the small-company sector for two years in a row in the Observer’s Top Workplaces program. Photo courtesy of the company.

The Top Workplaces award allows companies to gain recognition and recruit and retain employees. In 2017, the No. 1 ranking companies were RoundPoint Mortgage Servicing Corporation in the large sector, midsize company True Homes LLC and Skookum in the small-company category.

To nominate, go to www.charlotteobserver.com/nominate or call 704-954-8760 for more information.
