For those Charlotte natives looking for exciting activities to kick off the summer, the 600 Festival is a homegrown tradition of fun. The festival is a celebration of May’s races at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, and the tradition is capped off with the Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola on May 25-27. Located on Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte, the event has guaranteed parking through its partnership with Parking Panda, so festival-goers can rest assured that there will be a place for them.
Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola has a wealth of fun activities for celebrants of all ages. Live music performances by country stars Jake Owen and Billy Currington, who have seventeen chart-topping singles between them, will provide some down-south croons for music lovers. World-renowned DJ Jazzy Jeff will command the Coca-Cola stage following the third annual PNC Speed Street 5K. Preceded by dueling DJ duo Wiggz N Wonz as well as DJ AHuf, DJ Jazzy Jeff is presented by the North Carolina Education Lottery. Funk band Lakeside will kick things off with a free concert on Thursday, May 25, featuring some of their hits from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
Music isn’t the only thing bringing swarms of Charlotteans out to Uptown Charlotte. Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola will also feature appearances by beloved NASCAR drivers like Daniel Suarez, Austin Dillon, Joey Logano, and Darrell Wallace, Jr. Additionally, interactive displays from event sponsors like Coca-Cola, Circle K, and PNC Bank will provide plenty of fun for the public, including the Circle K tailgating zone with its phone charging stations and games.
And don’t let the kids keep you at home! Circle K Speed Street presented by Coca-Cola is a family-oriented Charlotte tradition, and it features the Morris Jenkins Kids’ Zone. Located at Tryon Street and Levine Avenue of the Arts, the Morris Jenkins Kids’ Zone is open from noon to 8p.m. daily during the festivities. It features a variety of games, slides, bounce houses, and other kid-friendly activities to keep the youngsters happy.
