This post is brought to you in partnership with FEAST Food Tours & Culinary Events. All opinions are our own.

Are you looking for a unique and innovative experience outside the box of conventional dinner gatherings? Perhaps you’ve wondered about the secrets of foraging for local ingredients, or maybe you’ve thought about learning how to craft the perfect cocktail. FEAST Food Tours & Culinary Events seeks to provide the answer to just those sorts of questions by connecting Charlotteans to the local culinary scene. Though their tours are incredible ways to experience the wonders of Charlotte restaurants and eateries, a special element of the company is its ability to create customized, hands-on culinary events.

What do we mean by culinary events? “The sky’s the limit,” said Experience Specialist Caroline Brown. Culinary events can include experiences like hands-on mixology courses, chef-led tours of the local farmers’ market, Cheese 101 and wine-pairing events, and even total restaurant buyouts for large groups and corporate team building exercises. Other events developed and planned by FEAST have included blindfolded dinners, cocktail demonstrations and wine-blending courses at The Punch Room, and foraging excursions with acclaimed North Carolina chef/owner Clark Barlowe of the farm-to-fork Heirloom Restaurant.

The company’s level of expertise in the industry is unmatched. Before founding FEASTfounder Kristi Martin accumulated an extensive background in event planning, spending more than fifteen years planning weddings and corporate events at high-end places like the Morehead Inn, Van Landingham Estate, and The Westin Charlotte, where she was the Senior Catering Sales Manager. “I was always trying to create an experience that was personal to the [wedding] couples’ needs,” she said. Martin soon realized that she could use her talents on a broader scale to connect larger groups of people with the local culinary scene, and FEAST was born. These unique and customized culinary events are a natural extension of Martin’s hard-earned expertise.

We’ve written about the company’s food tours in the past, and FEAST has been organizing these culinary events on a private/exclusive basis for five years. However, now Martin has begun growing the second arm of her company and expanding its offerings to make customized events available to the public as well as for private functions. Looking to buy out a restaurant for the night and enjoy some one-on-one discussions with the chef? Want to learn and join in the process by which a local barista chooses and pairs her coffee? If so, look for big things out of FEAST in 2018!

The company also offers gift certificates for their popular food tours, which are a perfect way to give an experience to family or friends this holiday season.
