Come listen and learn from an amazing panel of innovators, all selected from Charlotte’s craft brewery scene. Nosh on light bites and beverages while speakers talk about their craft, great beer. Speakers include Chris Goulet of Birdsong Brewing Co., Jason Alexander of Free Range Brewing, Chad Henderson of NoDa Brewing Company, and Townes Mozer of Lenny Boy Brewing Co.

(2) Explore in Awe at the Chinese Lantern Festival

Thursday-Sunday, 5:30-9:30 p.m. $21.95 (online ticket). Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden, 6500 S New Hope Road, Belmont.


For over a month, DSBG will be home to an otherworldly experience. Over 800 handmade lanterns will take over 12 acres to create an illuminated wonderland of flora and fauna from around the world. Think illuminated panda bears, lions, flamingos and more fauna from the world’s seven continents. Each of the lanterns is made by masters of the craft in Zigong, China’s center of lantern heritage.

(3) Rave on the Roof at Rooftop 210’s Silent Disco

Rooftop 210 is bringing a Silent Disco to one of the best rooftop bars in Charlotte. Grab a set of wireless headphones and get grooving—the people watching is half the fun. You get to choose which DJ’s music you like best, featuring Chase Morgan, Jason Wiggz and Kommotion.

(4) Watch Queen City Quiz Show: South End vs. North End

Watch South End vs. North End in a live game show where players answer trivial, entertaining and challenging questions to score a check for a non-profit of their choice. Queen City Quiz Show partners with diverse neighborhoods and communities in the Queen City to share information — trivial, entertaining and (sometimes) challenging — about Charlotte’s past and present, to facilitate a community that can shape the future. Plus, food and drink for all.

(5) Get Bewitched at Quidditch Day at the Amazing Maize Maze

Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. $8+. Historic Rural Hill, 4431 Neck Road, Huntersville.


If you’ve dreamed of witnessing the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in real life, Quidditch Day is the event for you. Watch a match as the Charlotte Quidditch at UNCC takes on UNCG Quidditch in an entertaining exhibition match for your absolute amusement. Then, try your hand at catching the snitch and sip bewitching bevs.
