We know today is going to feel like spring, but is that going to be enough to get you through the upcoming months? If winter has you down, C5 has just the thing to warm you up. We suggest a night at The Jazz Room Jan. 20 and 21 with a tribute to jazz flutist Hubert Laws with Strings. This show is guaranteed to ditch Old Man Winter and help you remember sunnier days. Forget extra layers and heating blankets, here’s how a night at The Jazz Room is going to make you feel nice and toasty.
New Orleans heat
Watch world-renown Kent Jordan from New Orleans spice it up with his tribute to jazz great Hubert Laws at The Jazz Room. Jordan has recorded with Wynton Marsalis and Kevin Eubanks, among others. He’s served on the faculty of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Camp in New Orleans since its inception. He’s one of the top jazz flutist in the WORLD. Now, that’s hot!
12 hot musicians in one place
Joining the talented Jordan are a slew of amazing musicians – including some with serious string savvy from the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. The eight-piece string ensemble (yes, I said eight!) will be led by Charlotte Symphony violinist Jane Brendle – she’s kind of a big deal around here and will heat it up with jazz flutist Kent Jordan. With all this talent in one place, we’re feeling warmer all ready.
Tickets starting at $14
Nothing gives us that warm feeling like a fantastic bargain. Tickets for The Jazz Room start at only $14. Choose from four show times – Jan. 20 (6 and 8:15 p.m.) and 21 (7 and 9:15 p.m.). Want to really heat it up? Enjoy a Cabaret table and drink tickets for $30.
An intimate evening
Nothing conjures up a little warmth like being close. The Jazz Room lets you get up close and personal to wonderful jazz talent in a cozy environment. Spring for a cabaret table and feel the tropical vibe.
Say goodbye to the the winter blahs for a few hours and enjoy some hot music at The Jazz Room in January.
