Are you a fan of people watching, outdoor seating and salted caramel brownies? Then this new Amelie’s French Bakery opening this summer in the Backlot of Park Road Shopping Center will be your new favorite spot.
The bakery chose this area due to the rising popularity that it has been receiving, as well as the lack of sweet treat/coffee options on Park Road.
“(Park Road Shopping Center) has become one of the busiest shopping centers in the state and is in a part of Charlotte that doesn’t have many establishments that offer the magnitude of what Amélie’s does,” Mary Jayne Wilson, executive chef and director of operations, said in an email.
Amelie’s at Park Road plans to open at the end of July. At first the bakery will open everyday at 7 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. on weeknights and midnight on Friday through Saturday. However, it is keeping an open mind to expanding its hours down the road.
This new 5,400 square-foot location will also have some minor differences from Amelie’s at Uptown, Carmel Commons and NoDa. It will have a big outdoor patio so that customers can sip on lattés and nibble on pastries outside. It will also have a mezzanine seating area with internet connection, perfect for both people watching and Snapchatting while on WiFi.
But the Park Road location will have some similarities as well: Like the Uptown and Carmel Commons locations, this Amelie’s will also be serving beer and wine (*insert praise hands here*) and other seasonal offerings.
